Tai Shani discussed the inspirations behind her varied work and her recent nomination for the Turner Prize 2019. She was joined in conversation by Rosie Cooper, co-curator of Still I Rise: Feminisms, Gender, Resistance, Act 2 and Head of Exhibitions at De La Warr Pavilion.

Tai Shani is a London-based artist, whose diverse practice spans installation, sculpture, performance, writing and filmmaking. Her celebrated works include the project DC Productions (2014-2018), a series that draws inspiration from the 1405 proto-feminist text City of Ladies by Christine de Pizan (pictured above).
