At DACS Images, we’re proud to work with many of the UK’s leading modern and contemporary art collections - including the Arts Council Collection, one of the nation’s most significant and far-reaching public art collections.

A selection of over 600 images from the Arts Council Collection is available to license through DACS Images, making it easier for publishers, museums, production companies and merchandisers to access high-quality, artist-approved reproductions.

Licensing these images helps to support the artists and estates who hold the copyright in their work, as well as the ongoing management and care of the publicly funded collection.

About the Arts Council Collection

Founded in 1946, the Arts Council Collection was established to support British artists and preserve important works for the nation. Today, it holds more than 8,500 artworks by over 2,200 artists, encompassing painting, photography, moving image, performance, sculpture and installation.

The Collection features work by popular British Pop artists such as Peter Blake, and Joe Tilson; internationally renowned sculptors including Henry Moore and Elisabeth Frink; and painters from the St Ives School, such as Peter Lanyon and Roger Hilton, who drew inspiration from Cornwall’s distinctive landscape. It also includes work by contemporary artists like Sonia Boyce, whose practice explores identity, community and post-colonialism.

As a “museum without walls”, the Arts Council Collection lends artworks to hundreds of venues across the UK each year - from major galleries and museums to schools, hospitals and libraries. This ensures that modern and contemporary British art can be experienced and enjoyed by as many people as possible.
