DACS is proud to announce that its CEO, Christian Zimmermann, has been elected to the Board of Directors of CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers), as confirmed yesterday at CISAC’s General Assembly in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Christian joins a newly elected Board that includes Dean Ormston (CEO of APRA AMCOS) as Chair, alongside Vice-Chairs Urban Pappi (VG Bild-Kunst) and Jennifer Brown (SOCAN).  His appointment strengthens DACS’s voice on the international stage, ensuring that the interests of visual artists and creators are firmly represented in global discussions about copyright, digital transformation, and creators’ rights.

It’s an honour to join the CISAC Board at a time when the rights of creators are under increasing pressure. CISAC is an extremely important and supportive organisation bringing all repertoires together worldwide. I am pleased to represent the voice of visual artists and creators in all disciplines at this global level. Through my appointment to the CISAC Board I will try my best to ensure that visual artists and creators are recognised, protected, and fairly rewarded in a rapidly evolving digital world.

This is a strong and forward-looking Board, bringing together valuable experience, and broad geographic and sectoral diversity. I am delighted to welcome Dean Ormston as Chair and to work with him, our Vice-Chairs, and all Board members as we continue our mission to defend the rights of creators and support our member societies. We are focused on delivering results that make a meaningful impact for creators around the world.
