Film and TV licensing projects

We've collaborated with a variety of film and TV productions and designers to showcase visual artists’ work — from set design, to premieres and promotional campaigns. Our licensing team are experts at working with national broadcasters, production companies and set designers, providing clear agreements that define how the work can be used across film projects, marketing campaigns, and events.

Set design - RoboCop and the estate of Francis Bacon

Bacon’s artistic style, known for its distorted and emotionally charged imagery, was used as the “underlying visual metaphor” for the reboot of RoboCop in 2014.

Bacon’s ‘Triptych Inspired by the Oresteia of Aeschylus’, 1981 can be seen here in front of the film’s main antagonist, Raymond Sellars, played by Michael Keaton.

We worked with the production designer Martin Whist to licence Francis Bacon’s work for the 2014 film.

DACS set up a licensing agreement between the production for RoboCop and the estate of artist Francis Bacon.
