DACS is proud to support TRANSMISSIONS - a new six part online series bringing together artists to share their work during isolation.

In these extraordinary times, many artists are finding themselves in a precarious position, with exhibitions, commissions and other projects being cancelled for the foreseeable future.

To combat this, TRANSMISSIONS will support a group of artists to create, using a classic DIY TV show format, broadcast weekly on Twitch.

The project is curated by Anne Duffau, Hana Noorali, and the joint Turner Prize winning artist Tai Shani. DACS hosted a talk with Tai Shani, during Frieze last year, which you can watch on our Youtube channel.

Season 1 of TRANSMISSIONS will feature a host of artists working across sculpture, performance, music and poetry. They include Mark Leckey, Tarek Lakhrissi, Johanna Hedva, Mykki Blanco and Sophie Jung.

There will be six weekly episodes screening every Thursday at 9 pm GMT and repeated on Fridays at 9 am GMT on Twitch.

Each artist included in TRANSMISSIONS will be paid a fee in return for their contribution donated by established UK art institutions and commercially stable artists.

Alongside DACS, other supporters of TRANSMISSIONS include ArtQuest, Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Oscar Murillo Studio, Somerset House Studios and Wysing Arts Centre.

Watch the first episode at 9am GMT on Thursday 23 April 2020 and the repeat on Friday 24 April at 9am GMT on Twitch.

Full details of episodes and artists involved can be found here.
