We are delighted to announce that the recipient of the DACS Annual Award 2019 is Ryan Gander.

Join us to hear him explore Perspectives, a talk which considers our inability to change.

In a world fragmented by conflicting ideologies, artists offer unique insights, disrupting our assumptions and inspiring new ways of seeing. DACS seeks to provide artists with a platform via our Annual Award.

Ryan Gander is the second artist to receive DACS’ Annual Award. At our inaugural event last year, the award went to Turner-Prize nominated artist Anthea Hamilton, who took the audience on a contemplative journey about looking.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A with Ryan Gander and a drinks reception.

About the artist

Ryan Gander has established an international reputation through artworks that materialise in many different forms – from sculpture to film, writing, graphic design, installation, performance and more besides.

Through associative thought processes that connect the everyday and the esoteric, the overlooked and the commonplace, Gander’s work involves a questioning of language and knowledge, as well as a reinvention of both the modes of appearance and the creation of an artwork.
