Have you had work published in Germany? Claim your share of royalties between 7 and 26 June.

If you are an artist who has had visual works published in a German language book, you may be eligible to apply for royalties.

From 7 – 26 June artists and estates can apply for royalties if their work has been published in Germany, thanks to the partnership between DACS and the German collecting society, VG Bild-Kunst.

Your work must have featured in a German language book published by a German publisher. You can apply for all types of published artistic works including photography, illustration, caricature, cartoon images, logos, infographics, title design and graphic design.

To apply, complete our German PLR claim form and return it by email to payback@dacs.org.uk by 26 June 2021.

You will need to provide the following information on your form:

  • The book title, author, publisher, year of publication and ISBN
  • Your total number of photographic works included in each book - differentiating between the number of works inside the book from the number of works on the front cover.
  • Your total number of illustrative/other visual works included in each book - differentiating between the number of works inside the book from the number of works on the front cover.
  • Whether you have designed the overall graphic design and/or the title design. The books you are applying for must have a print run of at least 250 copies. (VG Bildkunst may request proof of the print run).
  • You can apply for a maximum number of 200 artistic works per book.
