Let me introduce you...

Derek Brazell is a successful illustrator of children's books. He is a Creators' Council member as well as a member of the AOI (Association of Illustrators).
Visit www.derekbrazell.com.
So what is it you do exactly? I do lovely illustrations for various clients and also work part-time at the Association of Illustrators sorting out other illustrators' problems.
Career high point? Flying to Barcelona in the late 1980's to gather reference for an educational picture book. Sampled Spanish nightlife and then spent a mad day dashing round the city with my camera and a hangover!
Worst job you've ever done? Spending a day drawing tons of realistic food for a next day deadline, knocking coffee all over it at 6pm, and having to draw all night long to hit the deadline. Never did that again, strangely.
If you were Minister for Culture for the day what would you do? I'd lay on free buses from all over the place to the artistic institutions.
What's your guiltiest pleasure? Having a nap after lunch when I'm working from home. Just ten minutes, honest.
Desert island art work? Possibly Munch's 'The Scream' to scare me into getting off the island.
People you would most like to bump into at a private view? The friendly ones who will talk to me, and the ones with the nibbles.
Copyright turns me on because... it makes me money and I enjoy keeping it for myself.
Tell us a secret! If only I was mysterious enough to have secrets worth telling.
