Gaynor Maher has recently joined DACS' Creators' Council. She is a graphic designer who has worked in advertising and graphic design since 1985. Gaynor lives in Bedford where she runs her own design agency. She is also a member of Creative Bedfordshire, the creative industries cluster for Bedfordshire-based businesses and artists.

So what is it you do exactly?
I own and run a small graphic design agency in Bedford
called Skinny Dog Design Ltd.

Career high point?
Winning New Starter Bedfordshire Businesswoman
of the Year 2003.

Worst job ever done?
They know who they are!

If you were Minister for Culture for the day what would you do?
Double the amount of Arts in the National Curriculum.

Desert island art work?
Herbert by Michael Sowa. I first saw it hanging on the wall
of the living room in the film Amelie. I instantly fell in love with it..

People you would most like to bump into at a private view?
Eddie Izzard, Tim Roth, Muriel Gray.

1984 was the year that...
I got my first proper job.

Tell us a secret!
In the 80’s I appeared on Channel 4's The Tube every week for three years. I was picked to be a "punter" – someone who dressed and danced outrageously in the audience.
