Artists and visual creators can benefit from DACS’ services at all stages of their careers regardless of whether they are members or not. We are committed to providing quality services which are enshrined in our Members' Charter.

DACS provides artists with three rights management services:

Payback
As an artist or visual creator you can claim Payback royalties if your work has been featured in a UK book, magazine or included in a programme broadcast on BBC Digital or terrestrial television. DACS pays these roylaties to successful claimants in December each year.

Artist's Resale Right
The Artist's Resale Right entitles you to receive a royalty each time your work is bought or sold by an art market professional such as an auction house, gallery or art dealer. DACS pays resale royalties 12 times a year at the end of each calendar mon

Copyright Licensing
We manage all requests to reproduce your work ensuring that reproductions of your works are legally licensed, fairly paid for and that the integrity of your copyright is respected. As a Copyright Licensing member, we pay you royalties four times a year and calculate your annual Payback royalties.

DACS belongs to an international network of collecting societies in 29 countries. Your rights are administered on the same basis in all these countries and you receive royalties when your work has been reproduced overseas.

As a member of DACS you can also enjoy additional benefits which include regular contact through StudioDACS, access to our Copyright Advice Service (Artist's Resale Right and Copyright Licensing members only) and invitations to our growing programme of events and seminars throughout the UK. You will also be informed of opportunites to exhibit in the Kowalsky Gallery.

DACS is also an authoritative voice for visual creators' rights in the UK, so by joining you will also be strengthening the presence of visual creators and their rights in the copyright community as a whole.
