thisCouncil[0] = ["About the Creators Council","","","","","","<!-- <strong>Creators' Council</strong><\/p><p>-->The DACS' Creators' Council is a forum for dynamic exchange between DACS and the visual art community. Through interaction between its participants and our staff team, DACS ensures our work and aims are relevant and valuable to our current and future members. The work of the Creators' Council contributes directly to ensuring all aritsts benefit from every right and royalty to which they are entitled.<\/p><p>The Council will eventually comprise of 18 participants drawn from every area of the visual arts. It will bring together illustrators, photographers, installation artists, fine artists, digital artists, sculptors and designers - reflecting the whole spectrum of visual creators which DACS serves, from emerging talent to celebrated names. It may also include professionals who work closely with artists - curators, gallerists, or publishers who can provide an external viewpoint on what we do. Three participants will also be members of DACS Board of Directors.<\/p><p>The <strong>Annual Forum<\/strong> of the Creators Council will discuss the key issues facing visual creators. The outcomes may be a change in our perspective, ideas for the future and an increased understanding of the interests of the artists we serve.<\/p><p>The Creators' Council is responsible for annually reviewing DACS' performance against the values enshrined in our Members' Charter, safeguarding DACS' commitment to high standards of service, equality, transparency, inclusivity and accountability for our members.",""]

thisCouncil[4] = ["Gaynor Maher","","","Gaynor_Maher.jpg","","","Gaynor has worked in advertising and graphic design since 1985 on both client and agency side for companies such as Granada TV Rental, Senior King Ltd and various local advertising & design agencies.</p><p>She has now settled in Bedford where she runs her own design agency which services the public sector and both local and national companies. Gaynor is also a keen and active member of Creative Bedfordshire, the creative industries cluster for Bedfordshire-based businesses and artists.</p><p>Gaynor is a regular Payback claimant.",""]

His practice is diverse, so as well as making individual artworks, installations and artefacts for exhibition, he also works to commission, writes, teaches and curates.",""]

She was awarded an MBE in 2006 for services to Welsh art. She is the recipient of numerous prizes and awards including The Jerwood Painting Prize, The Hunting/Observer Prize, the Gold Medal at the National Eisteddfod, Welsh Woman of Culture and, more recently, a Creative Wales Award from the Arts Council of Wales.</p><p>Shani trained at St Martin's School of Art and moved to Wales 22 years ago with her family. Recent purchases by public collections include New Hall Cambridge, Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art, Arts Council of England, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and the National Museum of Wales.</p><p>Shani has been a Full Rights member of DACS since 1997.",""]

Graduating from Bretton Hall in painting and printmaking, Semple has subsequently shown internationally with both solo and group exhibitions.</p><p>Semple lives and works in Londonšs East End and his studio is a creative hub that both reflects and harnesses the talents of the dynamic people who frequent it; all manner of young creatives drop in to share ideas and work on projects. For this very reason Stuart is delighted to have been invited to join the Creators' Council, as it gives him opportunity to help young artists like himself achieve their full potential.</p><p>Stuart is an Artist's Resale Right member of DACS.",""]

Her works are monoprints and encaustic (wax) paintings.  Juliet has showed in a number of group exhibitions and in 2006 had her first solo exhibition in London.</p><p>She teaches art and also works at the Tavistock Institute a small not for profit research and consultancy organisation, where among her interests is the role that art and creativity play in social and action research.</p><p>Juliet is a Payback member.",""]

Nicholas photographed many of the leading contemporary artists for his book Portraits of Artists in 2000 and has collaborated with the performance artist Franko B in creating photographs of his work. He has been the subject of exhibitions in London, Milan, Athens and Brighton and his work is represented in public collections across Europe.</p><p>Nicholas is a Full Rights member of DACS for his own work, and also as the beneficiary of his Godfather, the Late Sir Kyffin Williams RA.",""]

He is also consultant to the Royal Academy of Arts, Foster & Partners and the official artist to the Picasso Museum exhibition, Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi 2008. In 2006-07 he was official artist and photographer to former Prime Minister Tony Blair. He has travelled widely and in 2001 he lived in Afghanistan for over three years, producing 350 portraits of women, men and children.</p><p>As well as a painter Jacob has curated two exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts and he is also a former Time magazine photographer 1977 -1985.",""]
